The Solana Foundation has announced the addition of two new key players to its non-engineering teams, specifically in the Communications and Marketing departments. The announcement comes from Austin Federa, the Head of Communications, Marketing, and Strategy at the Solana Foundation. He shared insights about his own journey with Solana, the rapid growth of the community, and the organization's shift toward expanding its non-engineering focus.
In the announcement, Federa highlighted the significant progress the Solana ecosystem has made since he joined back in January 2021. With only 35 programs on the network at the time and a little over 20 people on board, Solana has come a long way. It has matured into a more expansive and robust organization, focusing on both engineering and non-engineering aspects of its growth.
Until recently, the Communications and Marketing teams at the Solana Foundation consisted of only five members. In the past six months, the Foundation has been working diligently to strengthen its non-engineering teams, and the latest new hires are an important step forward in this direction.
The first new addition to the Solana Foundation is Meghan Hughes, who joined last month as the Vice President of Marketing. With an impressive track record in the industry, Hughes is poised to play a significant role in shaping the Foundation's marketing strategies and initiatives moving forward.
The second hire is Arielle Pennington, who joins this week as the Head of Communications under Meghan's organization. Arielle brings extensive experience in communications and will be instrumental in enhancing Solana's overall messaging and communication strategy.
As for Austin Federa, he is stepping fully into the Head of Strategy role at the Foundation, working closely with Meghan and Arielle to provide strategic support as they ramp up. In this new capacity, Federa will focus more on long-term initiatives, special projects, and internal strategy.
With these strategic new hires, the Solana Foundation is positioning itself for further growth and success throughout 2023 and beyond. As the ecosystem continues to evolve and thrive, there's no doubt that the Solana community is eagerly anticipating even more remarkable achievements – especially those that are Only Possible on Solana™️.
